Continuing with the work - We're going to need the space for a few things, so the tank had to be cut-up and shortened by about 40%.

This is what the tank (well, the discarded part) looks like - it's baffled.

A proper airfield testing using Tesla Electronics' G-Tech Pro device has been arranged...

...so we mounted Ronal Turbo's with Michelin Pilot Sport tyres back on the Mi32 (they had been on my GTI temporarily, for a couple of years :o)).

When we arrived there, a few things decided to go wrong - front clutch hydraulics and rear throttle cable.

The problem turned out to be down to the leverage we had recently introduced to make the clutch and throttle lighter and easier to use.

There wasn't much we could do at the spot, but we decided to do a few test runs anyway, as the first drag race of the season is only a couple of days ahead!

More than 2 km long secondary airstrip in Mahovljani near Banja Luka is a perfect and safe environment for testing such a car to the full extent.

Severly slipping front clutch and half-opening rear throttle gave rather poor results on G-Tech Pro, but atleast we have time to sort out the clutch, throttle and a few other things before the race!

It turned out the throttle wheel wasn't symmetrical at all so we got it trimmed down to a perfect 1:1 (direct) ratio across the wheel.

Clutch hydraulics reverted back to 1:1 (direct) ratio as well, so hopefully that should be sorted out, with only a day left.

The last day and the last crucial thing - rear engine's firewall and cover - obligatory for the drag race.

The rear engine is nicely tucked beneath the cover.

The cover easily slides out to reveal and allow access to the rear engine.

It's a thick multi-layered material with great heat and sound insulation properties.

The rear firewall - it's not wood but a very similar material as used for the cover, though it came with the outer face finished in wood effect.
