...and another custom enlargening pipe to join up the chargecooler to the inlet manifold. Also, we connected water hoses at this stage.

We cut up the pipe going from the distribution block at the back of the block to the thermostat and insterted the turbo there.

With the oil return hose connected to the back of the block, the work was finished and the only thing left was to bled the chargecooler system.

After a lot of tweaking of cranking settings and fuel sites, we got it running but couldn't get the engine to rev above idle. It turned out that in all the rush we'd fogotten a rag in the compressor inlet (doh!).

Copper bushes on the oil take-off had settled in and started leaking so the adapter needed further tightening and it wasn't possible with the manifold on.

After that, with most of the day behind us, we checked the condition of the spark plugs and went for the final test drive.
