repair under way: cross section reinforced with the same material. a suitable part of 309 roof lining cut to fit, glued and pressed together.

airbox parts jetwashed and prepped for assembly

airbox put together with new heater radiator, old one next to it

decided to make myself a kind of pollution filter..
two-layer kitchen exhaust hood filter cut to suit the airbox inlet shape.

...3cm wide rubber band cut and glued to form outer holding belt, filter comes inbetween, everything fits tightly and neatly together.
plastic holding band just in case.
this should be fair easy to access and replace, preventing grease, bugs, leaves etc. entering the airbox.

dirt-grease found here was almost impossible to remove

new vent seal

one of most unpleasant sunroof frame joys was removing sealing tape glue and remains.
simple and efficient removing tool made of empty plastic coolant can

cleaned of grease & dirt, matted and ready for respray

two coats of silicon based black matte later...
this type of color is heat resistant to 600 deg, normally used for exhaust systems. me likes using it because it has primer in it, renders primer coat obsolete and dries quickly to very tasty finish

sealing tape joint detail

i thought it woud be smart to clean sunroof frame holes with compressed air and then fill them with aluminium anti-seize grease.
no matter of precision help pictured, anti-seize grease ends everywhere! :-)

these are mounting clip and rubber washer normally used for body trim etc...
